My dad happened to be lucky, ( and brave?) enough to accompany Alex down to Burnt Ranch, his epic salmon fishing spot here on the Trinity River. The water is VERY high this year so this makes fishing a REAL adventure to say the least. My dad didn't get a fish, but did get to document a fish fight that ended with Alex getting a bit wet....

Alex hooks a big one and well into the fight the salmon runs downriver leaving Alex to chase him on the rugged bank... |
|
The fight goes on... |
|
No more room to follow the salmon downriver....the battle ensues... |
|
Trying to hang on as the fish runs, trying NOT to get spooled. |
|
It comes down to getting in...49 degree water.... |
|
|
Alex, knee deep. Notice the fish tail in the middle of the picture... |

SUCCESS!!! |

Looks like hard work!
This is SO COOOLLL!!! Thank you to your dad for the awesome documentary photos. I am stoked to see what Alex does and how he does it. I didn't really know fishing could be such an adventure (sorry, I obviously have a stereotypical idea of fishing).
Alex rocks! And your dad IS brave for joining in on this one. But I'm just left wondering where you were Katie...sitting on your butt or what?!?! HAHAHAHAHA
Hopefully soaking in your baby and laughing with/at your two year old when ever possible.
The last pic of Alex is so great- pure excitement. I see a lot of pics of Forrest with that same face!
Like father like son!
Happy dinner!!!
